Oregonians Sweep High School Nationals

The 2007 USA Racquetball High School Nationals were held over the weekend in St. Louis, Missouri and players from Oregon are bringing home every No. 1 Division National Championship.

Beaverton High School also brought home the Overall and Boy's Team Championships. The Beavers finished second in the Girl's Team standings. La Salle's Overall and Boy's Team both finished second in their respective team competitions. Southridge finished fourth among Overall Teams and also fourth among Girl's Teams. The Boy's Team from Sprague finished fifth.

Beaverton Sweeps Team Titles at HS State Championships

For the 10th time in the history of Oregon High School Racquetball, Beaverton took home the Overall Team Championship. The Beavers also captured the Boys and Girls Team Championships. Beaverton's dominance was a repeat of last year's team trophy trifecta, and they also accomplished the same feat in 1999. Complete team results can be found here.

Congratulations also goes out to the 2007 High School State Champions in Singles and Doubles:

Boys Singles -- State Championship Final

Sunset Purple Wins 06-07 OHSRL Title!

Congratulations to the Sunset Purple team for capturing the 2006-2007 OHSRL Team Championship.

Grant Stalley from Beaverton will enter the High School State Championships (February 1-4) as the top ranked boys player in the state, while Shannon Inglesby from Central Catholic will be the top ranked girls player.

NMRA Masters Coming To Portland!

The National Masters Racquetball Association will hold its 2007 National Championships in Portland from March 7th throuth the 10th. Matches will be played at the Multnomah Athletic Club and the Sunset Athletic Club. Divisions are in five-year increments starting with 45+ in Men's and Women's Singles and also Men's, Women's and Mixed Doubles.  All NMRA tournaments are played in the round-robin format and self-refereed. You are never eliminated from play in an NMRA tournament. You can download the Tournament Application Form from www.nmra.info.

LIVE Video from Junior World's in Tempe!

Many of the matches from the 2006 World Junior Racquetball Championships are being broadcast LIVE on the internet!  Check out www.racquetballonline.tv for all of the details!  As I type this message, I'm watching Team USA play...the quality of the video is GREAT, and the quality of play at this high level is incredible!

Charlie Pratt Wins Men's Open Doubles at US OPEN

Charlie teamed up with Ben Croft from Illinois to capture the Men's Open Doubles Championship at the 2006 US OPEN, held last week in Memphis, Tennessee.

Charlie was also a semifinalist in the Men's Open Singles division.

Also in Memphis from Oregon was Geoff Thomsen who served as one of the event's official photographers, and Jeff Oliver who was the Media Manager for the tournament.

Women's Pro Racquetball in NY - Live

The top ranked players from the Women's Professional Racquetball Organization are playing this weekend in Long Island, NY.  All of the action is being broadcasted live, via the internet.  The quality of the feed is GREAT, and I would highly recommend checking out the action to any racquetball fan.
